Synopsis: This read-aloud book, beautifully illustrated by Mique Moriuchi, celebrates twenty-two favourite rhymes from around the world - from Iran to Iceland, Samoa to Switzerland.  With each rhyme presented in its original language as well as in English, this is a unique companion to traditional Mother Goose books.

Lovely Gift For A Baby -

The Russons    Mon Nov 28, 2011

This is a lovely book, babies love poetry and rhymes and when they go through their phase of wanting to turn the pages as fast as they can to the end and then back again, a book of poems can stop the parent from feeling hung up on narrative (or is that just me?). Poems teach children that language is playful and remind parents to listen and take pleasure in the unique cadences of their children's developing speech. Poetry is closer to babytalk than any other form of expression, and so parents can recapture the feeling of what it is to be immersed in language as babies are. This is a lovely gift for a new parent.
