Mario Ramos
Mario Ramos was
born in Brussels in 1958, to a Belgian mother and a Portuguese
father. From very
early on he was fascinated by how much a small
drawing can transmit. During his studies in graphic communication, he
discovered the fabulous and influential drawings of Saul Steinberg and
Tomi Ungerer. Since 1983, Mario has been working as an illustrator in
books and advertising. It was in 1995 with the publication of his first
book (text and illustration) The World Upside Down
that he decided to work on his personal projects full-time. "What
interests me" he says, "is to tell a story with pictures. With a pencil
and paper, anything is possible."
